Kathleen Kull Urban’s passion is writing for children and freelancing as a journalist.
She is published in Highlights for Children, Babybug, Humpty Dumpty’s Magazine, the California Fresh Harvest cookbook, Danville Today, and Alamo Today.
She worked as a correspondent for the Danville Times and the Pleasanton Times, in addition to writing for the Contra Costa Times and their associated newspapers. With online news replacing newspapers, she currently writes for Patch.com. She has done extensive written and editorial work on a number of creative projects, including the award-winning California Fresh Harvest cookbook.
Kathleen is a charter member of the CWC Tri-Valley Branch, a past president, current branch treasurer, Central Board treasurer for three years, and a Jack London Award winner for exemplary service to the California Writers Club. When she’s not writing, Kathleen enjoys tutoring for an adult literacy program called Project Second Chance (http://ccclib.org/psc), cooking, baking outrageously delicious desserts, quilting, and walking her dog in the hills of Mount Diablo.
