Penny Warner, author of over fifty books for adults and children, including The Official Nancy Drew Handbook, will share the secrets of her success with us at the October 18 lunch meeting. Penny’s unique take on the writing life is summed up in her topic, “Nancy Drew’s Guide to Surviving – and – Thriving! as a Writer.” With help from “Nancy,” Penny will reveal how she uses suspenseful cliffhangers, and develops an intricate plot, to craft a compelling story and keep the reader turning pages. Penny will also share a page from her own handbook for career success, which includes always jumping into the next adventure and continually challenging and re-inventing herself as a writer.
Penny Warner has written mysteries, children’s nonfiction and is a columnist for the Contra Costa Times. We are thrilled to welcome back the woman who spoke at our very first lunch meeting in 2005.
