CWC Tri-Valley Branch is promoting our local authors world-wide, and entertaining U.S. troops at the same time. Members can donate signed copies of their own books at the April meeting. Vice President Deborah Bernal will collect the books and bring them to the San Ramon Blue Star Moms, who will send them to local military personal serving in Afghanistan.
Annette Langer participated in the nation-wide project to get books to service people abroad. Her memoir Healing through Humor: Change Your Focus, Change Your Life was selected as one of 136 authors contributing to our troops in Kuwait and Afghanistan. In our part of the world, Annette has been promoting her travel books at the Pleasanton VIP Club and the Pleasanton Senior Center.
Shelley Riley will appear on Tri-Valley Community Television Channel 30’s Conversations, discussing her memoir, Casual Lies A Triple Crown Adventure. The story of Shelley’s life as a horse trainer is a finalist for the Dr. Tony Ryan Book Award. Conversations will premier Monday March 31, and replay several times a day over the following week.
John Bluck and Fred Norman published recently. John’s novel, The Ship Finder, is a sci-fi novel available on Amazon.com. Fred has had several bodies of work published. A Hill of Poems is a collection of poems written for readings at the Lafayette crosses. He also has pieces in Julaina Kleist-Corwin’s anthology, Written Across the Genres, and in David Madgalene’s anthology, World of Change: New Way Media Fest.
