Gillian Wegener, Poet Laureate, April 18, 2020

This event has been canceled to comply with the Alameda County Shelter in Place that continues through May 3, 2020.

Gillian Wegener will present “Poetry Everywhere!” at the Tri-Valley Writers April meeting. Poetry is everywhere and can be for everyone. Gillian will illustrate through readings how ideas for poems can be found in everyday, ordinary things. Poetry sustains and connects us to each other and the world around us—it makes us more human. While not everyone will love poetry, we can all appreciate it.

Join us on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Four Points by Sheraton, 5115 Hopyard Road in Pleasanton. Check-in begins at 1:30 p.m. RSVP by Wednesday, April 15, at reservations@trivalleywriters.org. CWC adult members, $14; nonmembers, $18. CWC student members, $6; student nonmembers, $10. She has served as the poet laureate for the City of Modesto and is founding president of the Modesto-Stanislaus Poetry Center, an all volunteer nonprofit promoting poetry throughout Stanislaus County.
