Violet Moore Published; Wins Haiku Contest

“The Search,” short story fiction by Violet Moore, was published in Escape, the Las Positas College 2009 anthology. She was also a winner in the Bay Area News Groups School’s Out Haiku You contest in Contra Costa Times, Valley Times and online at InsideBayArea.com published on June 1, 2009.

Sherry Smith Wins 3rd Place in Haiku Festival

Sherry Smith won a 3rd place and an Honorable Mention for two haiku poems in the recent Ukiah Haiku Festival. She has a different haiku forthcoming in Mariposa. Her poem, “Red Boat,” won an Honorable Mention in the Rhymed and Metered category of the California Federation of Chaparral Poets annual contest.
