Marilyn Slade and Violet Carr Moore, winners in Summer Travel at the Speed of Haiku contest, were published July 5, 2010, in the Contra Costa Times, Tri-Valley Herald, and affiliated Bay Area News Group newspapers. In addition, Marilyn’s poem “I am a Proud Raisin,” won the Alameda County Fair theme award.
Danville author and political reporter Mark Curtis has won a 2010 International Book Award for The Making of the President 2008, Age of Obama: A Reporter’s Journey with Clinton, McCain and Obama.
