Kate McCarroll Moore served as the Poet Laureate for the City of San Ramon, California for three consecutive terms between 2012 and 2018, and she believes in the power of poetry to transform lives. She’s the author of Avians of Mourning, a poetry chapbook, and Alphapoetica: A Poetry Primer for the Everyday Poet. Kate is also the author of two novels for children (The Elinormal Saga), and Chelsea Skye, Nature Spy, a forthcoming picture book. She teaches in person and on-line writing courses for children and adults. Kate is also a teacher consultant with the Bay Area Writing Project and a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from California State University, East Bay, an M.A. in Teacher Leadership from St. Mary’s, and a B.A. in English Education from SUNY Albany.
