Kathleen has been a correspondent for the Danville Times and Pleasanton Times, has articles in the San Ramon Valley Times, Contra Costa Times, Danville Today, Alamo Today, and numerous articles on three Patch websites. She has done extensive written and editorial work on creative projects such as the award-winning California Fresh Harvest cookbook.

Kathleen is a charter member of the CWC Tri-Valley Branch, a past president, vice president, branch treasurer, and Central Board treasurer for three years. She received the Jack London Award for service from the California Writers Club and the Volunteer of the Year Award from her regional Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
When Kathleen is not writing, she tutors an adult ESL student for Project Second Chance, works as a website co-coordinator for her regional SCBWI, fosters puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind (the first puppy she raised is guiding a veteran in Hawaii), and handles publicity for the Diablo Valley Quilters.
In her spare time Kathleen enjoys creating fabric art through quilting, baking outrageously delicious cakes and cookies for family and friends, and walking her dogs in the hills of Mount Diablo.
